Visiting the Phoenix Zoo!

The Phoenix Zoo is a large zoo with a full array of animals and miscellaneous activities.  You could easily spend a good part of the day there, exploring.  There is a carousel, train, safari cart, camel rides and petting zoo (some activities require an additional charge).  The Monkey Village, where you walk around the habitat of the squirrel monkey, was very popular with the kids.  Check the schedule to find out the times of keeper-led talks and animal feeding times, as they are very interesting and educational.  After a long day at the zoo, the kids will love a stop at the Leapin' Lagoon Sprayground for  some water fun (available April - October).

Be warned that there is lots of walking to be done.  It can be a bit overwhelming on a hot day.  Plan to drink lots of water, and don't forget the sunscreen!
