Visiting the Adams County Colorado Museum
The Adams County Museum, located in Brighton Colorado, offers a fun look back at the history of the local area and the state in general. Exhibits depict area life from prehistoric times through the early 1900s. There are several replica buildings as well as displays in the main building. The kids' favorite was the replica 1930's gas station and one room schoolhouse.
Walking through the buildings was a natural, fun way to learn about history. Though be warned, most areas are 'hands off' so watch the little ones. We had a volunteer guide who walked us through the buildings and answered the kids' questions.
