Family Friendly Activity in Colorado: Young Chef's Academy
 YOUNG CHEF'S ACADEMY10445 Town Center Dr., Westminster 303.439.2252 www.youngchefsacademy.com COST: Individual classes are $29 per child HOURS: Monday - Friday 10 am - 6 pm (call for available class times) Kids learn to cook in a colorful, kid-friendly environment. Recipes are complex enough to allow children to try a variety of cooking tools but easy enough for even young children to understand. The children are walked through the different steps. Utensils are child-appropriate (safety knives and gloves). The children were given copies of the recipes so they could make them again at home (the recipes our children did were so good that we did make them again!). The facility also sells child appropriate cooking items, such as aprons. On weekends they have openings for birthday parties and special events. FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS- The facility and tools were all very kid-friendly and child-appealing. The staff was friendly and informative. There is an easily accessible bathroom and a waiting area for parents. FAMILY FRIENDLY CONS- A little pricey, especially if you have multiple children. This location is difficult to find since it is in a large shopping center area with difficult to find addresses (the YCA is located at the back of Starbucks). |
