Insider tip: The best time to visit is in late April to midsummer as blooms are at their best. Native flora gardens such as the rose garden are closed from November to April. FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS- A perfect escape from the concrete jungle, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden is simply education at its best and most beautiful. Even the little ones will enjoy running around the grounds. It’s also in very close proximity to Prospect Park (featuring other child friendly areas such as Prospect Park Zoo) and the Brooklyn Museum. FAMILY FRIENDLY CONS- Please remember that although plants are beautiful, they can be poisonous. Keep little ones within sight and ensure that curious minds and mouths do not eat any of the interesting plants. Also, although this part of Brooklyn boasts some of the best, must do, family friendly activities, this location of Brooklyn is best ventured in during daylight hours.
