Exhibits chronicle the significant changes brought by the Homestead Act of 1862 which encouraged Westward Expansion.   The Heritage Center tells the story of the hardships and joy of homesteaders.  The Visitor Center has a log cabin (built in 1867) and many farm related exhibits.  Walk around in the tall prairie grass to get a feel for how the pioneers might have seen the land.

FAMILY FRIENDLY PROS-  The kids loved the tall prairie grasses.  They found the museum to be interesting and learned a lot.
