Family Fun Activity: Disney On Ice
| I remember seeing the Disney On Ice commercials as a child and wishing I could see the performance. The years went by and my family never attended Disney On Ice. For some reason even when I had my own children, we never attended the Disney On Ice shows. They always looked great but we just never went! Last night, thanks to Mom Central, we finally had the chance to go to Disney On Ice. The show was the Disneyland Adventure and it really did bring back amazing memories of our trip to Disneyland last year. I took five children, age 7 - 16, to the show. The seats at the Denver Coliseum all seemed to have a good view of the show. Vendors were walking through selling a variety of treats and toys. The announcer gave several time warnings before the beginning of the show, which was nice because it gave the kids a countdown. The show started promptly-- a must for little kids! The show ran about 45 minutes then had a short intermission and about another 30 minutes of performance. The time went by very quickly as the storyline moves along quite quickly and is so full of fun Disney characters that the kids were mesmerized. The storyline of Disney On Ice: Disneyland Adventure is the family from the Incredibles going to Disneyland for a family vacation. Even though they are trying to be a 'normal' family, they run into adventure everywhere they go. The performance actually reproduces scenes from many areas of Disneyland. Eventually the Incredibles have to help save the day in typical Incredibles fashion! By the end of the show all five children were so in love with the show that they asked if we could go again the next night! Even the 16 year old who was not thrilled about attending was very thankful afterwards because he really enjoyed the show too. I would definitely recommend Disney On Ice for families with a variety of children's ages; it's not just for young kids!
